245 Students Admitted to Top 10 Seoul Universities, 42 to Medical and Pharmaceutical Fields

View original imageAt the meeting, Mayor Lee Hyun-jae expressed his gratitude to the attending citizens and public officials and congratulated the awardees who achieved outstanding results in various fields. He especially praised the dedication and efforts of public officials, stating that this year’s many achievements were thanks to their hard work.
Accordingly, emphasizing appropriate rewards and treatment, the city encouraged the relevant public officials by granting special promotions in six fields (9 people), performance excellence awards (8 people), performance bonuses, and prize money. In addition, as Hanam City was selected as an excellent institution in the city-county comprehensive evaluation, it promised to create a better working environment for employees by providing a special paid leave day in April.
Hanam City continues to strive for qualitative improvement in administrative services. Last year, it ranked first nationwide in the comprehensive civil service evaluation, and this year it was again selected as the best civil service institution.
Furthermore, it has established itself as an excellent institution in local government innovation evaluation for four consecutive years. Along with achievements such as the opening of Bobath Hospital, attracting the BC Card R&D Center, and relocating the headquarters of Seohee Construction, the city plans to steadily promote three major projects?Camp Colburn, K-Star World, and Gyosan New Town?through the establishment of the Investment Attraction Division (3 teams) in the organizational restructuring on February 28.
Notably, it also showed results in strengthening educational competitiveness. It proved educational competitiveness with a “remarkable increase in admission rates to major Seoul universities (a total of 287 students),” including 245 students admitted to the top 10 universities in Seoul and 42 students in medical and pharmaceutical fields.
A total education support budget of about 21 billion KRW was allocated, operating university campus tours and corporate experience programs, and providing differentiated support of up to 130 million KRW (total 600 million KRW) to five high schools for academic improvement projects, as well as equal support of 80 million KRW (total 800 million KRW) to 10 specialized high schools, continuing active support.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae emphasized the philosophy that “education is the city’s competitiveness” and promised continuous support.
During the meeting, major pending projects for Hanam City’s development were also reported. Kim Han-sung, an official from the Architecture Division, presented the status of efforts to allow the installation of park golf courses within the development restriction zone, and Woo Young-ho, team leader of the Construction Division, explained the plan to non-directly connect the Han River bridge (Hanam City Seondong to Namyangju City Suseok-dong) to Misa New Town. Additionally, Park Chang-won, team leader of the Metropolitan Transportation Division, announced a plan to adjust the location of station 104 on the Songpa-Hanam Line by 340 meters, continuing efforts to expand Hanam City’s transportation infrastructure.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae stated, “The key issues discussed today will greatly impact Hanam City’s development and the quality of life of its citizens,” urging all public officials to work together to provide the best administrative services. Hanam City will continue to do its best to implement policies that citizens can feel based on continuous communication and cooperation.

Meanwhile, at the monthly meeting, appreciation plaques were awarded to Mangwolcheon Guardians, outgoing resident autonomy committee members, and community leaders. To strengthen the city’s external promotion, broadcaster Choi Hong-rim and singer-songwriter Han Soo-young were appointed as new promotional ambassadors.
