Yoo Seung-min: "Respect and Welcome Court's Cancellation of Yoon's Detention... Must Proceed According to Law and Principles"
Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min stated on the 7th that he "respects and welcomes" the court's acceptance of the detention request for President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the same day, Yoo said through social media (SNS), "Although there were issues regarding investigative authority from the beginning of the Public Corruption Investigation Office's (PCIO) investigation into the president, the PCIO conducted the investigation excessively, filed charges for abuse of power and later for treason, and the prosecution failed to adhere to the detention period, indicating procedural flaws."
He added, "There are many procedural flaws, such as the Constitutional Court's impeachment trial excluding treason from the grounds for impeachment, and neglecting the quorum issue in the impeachment trial concerning Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. From now on, the prosecution's maintenance of the indictment, the court's trial, and the Constitutional Court's decision on these important matters must proceed without any deviation from the law and principles, keeping in mind that only then can the court, the Constitutional Court, and the prosecution earn the trust of the people."
