HMM Appoints Choi Won-hyuk, Former LX Pantos CEO, as New President
If Approved at the Shareholders' Meeting,
Two-Year Term Begins
Choi Won-hyuk, former CEO of LX Pantos, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HMM.
According to the shipping industry on the 7th, the HMM Executive Recommendation Committee, composed of the Korea Development Bank and the Korea Ocean Business Corporation, recently recommended former CEO Choi as the new CEO of HMM.
HMM plans to hold a board meeting on the same day to discuss submitting the agenda to the regular shareholders' meeting. If the agenda passes at the shareholders' meeting, former CEO Choi will serve a term of two years.
Former CEO Choi served as Vice President of CJ Logistics and led LX Pantos from 2015 to 2023. During that time, he also served as the President of the Korea Integrated Logistics Association from 2019 to 2023.

Kim Kyung-bae, who had been leading HMM since March 2022, will step down after completing a total term of about three years, including a one-year extension.
