Park Jiweon, Remarkable Achievements in Regional Development Projects
"Fought Like a Tiger in the National Assembly,
Worked Like an Ox in the Region"
Democratic Party lawmaker Park Jie-won (representing Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in South Jeolla Province) has been actively engaged in central politics through media appearances, special lectures at local party committees, and parliamentary activities to push for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol and a change in administration. At the same time, he has achieved notable results in various projects aimed at the development of the Haenam, Wando, and Jindo regions.
On the 4th, Park stated, "In January and February, I fought like a tiger in the National Assembly at Yeouido, and worked like an ox in the region," adding, "The county governors of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, the provincial and county councils, and the National Assembly member will work together in harmony to do our best for regional development."
Park worked to ensure that key routes, including the Geumil-Yaksan bridge, were included in the final review of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan.' As a result, the following projects are set to proceed: ▲ Construction of a new two-lane road between Geumil and Yaksan in Wando (409.9 billion KRW) ▲ Improvement of the Songgok-Daegok two-lane road in Sinji, Wando (38.7 billion KRW) ▲ Improvement of the Songgok two-lane road in Sinji, Wando (21.9 billion KRW).
He also achieved results by resolving the entry issue of 150 seasonal workers, which had been delayed, through negotiations between the Ministry of Justice and the Philippine government. In addition, he significantly reduced the farmland lease commission fees charged by the Korea Rural Community Corporation by half, lowering the commission for farmland owned by farmers from 5% to 2.5%.
The Environmental Ministry's feasibility evaluation deemed the Yejakdo trail construction project in Bogil-myeon, Wando (500 million KRW) 'suitable,' and Donggohang in Wando was selected for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Fishing Village New Vitality Project (10 billion KRW).

Additionally, to promote abalone consumption in Wando and Haenam, he requested the Ministry of National Defense to expand military procurement for meals, collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to ensure that local organizations such as Cheongsan Nonghyup in Wando were selected as Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) for 2025, and finalized the payment of 200,000 KRW per person as a livelihood recovery grant for 2025 through discussions with Wando County and its council.
Park emphasized, "In March, when camellia flowers bloom, the greatest reform of our time?Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment?will open a new era for Korea," adding, "The remaining 70 or so days are a crucial period for regional development. I will do my utmost for both regional progress and reform."
