Kiwoom Asset Management Undertakes Organizational Restructuring to Strengthen ETFs
Kiwoom Asset Management announced on the 4th that it will undertake a major organizational restructuring to strengthen its Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) business and specialize tasks by division.
The restructuring is a strategic measure to enhance KIWOOM ETF management capabilities, which have recently become more accessible to individual investors through rebranding, and to increase market competitiveness. Kiwoom Asset Management plans to actively expand its market share through external recruitment, the establishment of new divisions, and integration with existing divisions.
A new ETF Management Division has been established, organizing an ETF Management Team and an ETF Strategy Team within it, focusing on strengthening ETF management and product capabilities. The ETF Management Division will be overseen by Executive Director Lee Kyung-jun. Executive Director Lee stated, "By systematically analyzing investor needs, we will focus on differentiated investment products unique to Kiwoom and introduce new products and business models as a specialized management company."
In the short term, the company aims to build a solid business foundation as a strong small-to-medium-sized asset manager, and in the long term, it envisions growing into a pension ETF specialist house by providing pension solutions that take responsibility for investors' retirement.
The existing Multi-Asset Management Division, which oversaw the ETF business, will be reorganized to focus on global equities and retirement pensions (TDF). A Global Research Team has been newly established separately from the management team. This team will be responsible for research and planning to launch new funds such as pension lineups.
To strengthen ETF marketing, an ETF Marketing Organization will be newly established within the existing Marketing Division. The core of this restructuring is to combine Kiwoom Asset Management’s strengths in wholesale and field marketing success with ETF marketing.
