Hongseong County to Provide 300,000 KRW Admission Preparation Grant to New High School Students
Application and Registration from March 4 to 21
Hongseong County in Chungnam Province announced that it will provide an entrance preparation fund of 300,000 won per student to 985 freshmen entering high school this year.
The entrance preparation fund is a program that has been implemented since 2022 to support the purchase of school uniforms or educational books for new high school students. Over the past three years, 2,378 students have benefited from this support.
As of March 1, students who are registered residents of Hongseong County and are entering either local or non-local high schools are eligible for the support, regardless of income level.
The application period is from March 4 to 21. Students entering local high schools should apply at their respective schools, while those entering non-local high schools should apply at the administrative welfare center in their residential township or town.
Students with non-local addresses will be eligible for additional support after completing their resident registration transfer and submitting an additional application.
Yoon Sanggu, head of the Education and Sports Division, said, "Through the entrance preparation fund, we aim to lessen the financial burden on freshmen and their parents, and do our best to ensure that all students in our county can start their studies without discrimination."
Meanwhile, Hongseong County plans to promote more than 30 educational cooperation projects together with the Hongseong Office of Education, in addition to the entrance preparation fund for high school freshmen, to improve educational welfare and bridge educational gaps.
