Cheongsong-gun Public Health Medical Center in Gyeongbuk operates the ‘Senior Strength and Balance Exercise Completion’ class from February to April to prevent the risk of falls and muscle strength decline among the elderly.

View original imageThis program is conducted by visiting four senior centers where the elderly spend most of their time (Shinchon-ri in Jinbo-myeon, Myeongdang-ri in Andeok-myeon, Naeryong-ri in Juwangsan-myeon, and Bugok-ri in Cheongsong-eup). Participants can check the exercise effects through pre- and post-fitness assessments (muscular endurance, balance, flexibility), and will learn various strength and balance exercises to prevent falls in a 10-week course held once a week.
The exercise program consists of ▲adaptive exercises for seniors ▲chair-based exercises ▲partner exercises ▲standing exercises, and is tailored so that seniors can easily and enjoyably follow along.
