Jinju Citizen Football Club Wins 2025 K4 League Home Opener

The Jinju Citizen Football Club from Gyeongnam started the 2025 K4 League season on a high note by defeating the newly established Gijang Gunmin Football Club 1-0 in the first round home opener.
Due to renovation work at Jinju Sports Complex, the Jinju Citizen Football Club played their first match of the season at Modeok Sports Park Football Stadium and pressed their opponents from the early stages. At the 3rd minute of the first half, Kim Min-woo opened the attack with a powerful shot, and at the 11th minute, from a free-kick near the goal area, Kwon Gi-pyo scored the opening goal by delivering a low and precise shot to the lower right corner of the goal.

View original imageAfterwards, the team continued to seek opportunities through organized passing combinations and quick transitions between offense and defense, but could not add to their score. During the remaining time, strong defense and the outstanding saves of newly joined goalkeeper Kim Won-jung shone, and the match ended 1-0.
Jinju Citizen Football Club owner and Mayor Cho Gyu-il expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank the citizens and fans who came to the stadium despite the still chilly weather,” and added, “Please continue to show great interest and support for the Jinju Citizen Football Club this year as well.”
