Gyeonggi-do Conducts 'Post-Management Inspections' on 17 Aged and Hazardous Facilities
Gyeonggi Province will conduct post-management inspections by June on 17 aged and hazardous facilities in preparation for the thawing season and rainy season.
The 17 inspection targets were finally selected after gathering opinions from city and county disaster management departments and disaster management entities.
In particular, these facilities require periodic management among aged and hazardous facilities for which safety inspections have been conducted through the 'Safety Prevention Hotline' since November 2022, but safety measures have not yet been completed.
Most of the facilities subject to inspection are small-scale apartment complexes and their surrounding retaining walls and embankments, but large-scale steep slopes are also included to prepare for rockfalls and collapse accidents during the thawing season. Additionally, for small-scale apartment complexes where major structural defects were identified and emergency measures were taken through safety inspections via the 'Safety Prevention Hotline' in the first half of last year, additional checks will be made to confirm whether any further displacement has occurred and the progress of safety measures.
Especially in this post-management safety inspection, since it is necessary to precisely check for displacement such as cracks, ground subsidence, and tilting of the facilities, advanced technologies such as drones (for hard-to-access areas), multi-station (precision surveying equipment), LiDAR (precision terrain information acquisition equipment), and software that visualizes measurement data in 3D will be utilized.
