Yangsan-si Conducts Customized Medical Benefits System Guidance Training
First Step Toward Rational Use of Medical Aid for New Recipients
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam will conduct training for new medical aid recipients on March 10, 13, and 14 in Mulgeum-eup, Jungang-dong, Samsung-dong, Yangju-dong, and two districts in the Ungsang area (Pyeongsan and Seochang).
The Medical Aid Program is a social security system used by citizens who have difficulty paying medical expenses due to economic hardship.
Recipients can receive various supports such as co-payment assistance and cash benefits for illness, injury, childbirth, etc., and through medical aid case management, education and counseling are provided to improve preventive health management capabilities.
This training is designed to enhance understanding of the overall medical aid system and provide various information to 525 individuals who newly qualified for medical aid within the past year, covering topics such as the medical aid system, appropriate use of medical aid, and chronic disease prevention through health lifestyle newsletters.
Additionally, in cooperation with the public health center, an exercise prescription specialist will conduct education on preventing musculoskeletal disorders, and a health exercise program will be implemented to promote self-health management skills and improve quality of life.

A Yangsan City official stated, “We expect that by providing guidance on the medical aid system and appropriate use of medical aid to new recipients, we will enhance health management capabilities, prevent progression to severe diseases in advance, and contribute to financial stabilization through rational use of medical aid.”
