Police Expect Traffic Congestion in Downtown Seoul Due to Weekend Rallies
Public Urged to Use Public Transportation
Traffic congestion is expected this weekend due to rallies and marches in downtown Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 21st, "Tomorrow afternoon, rallies and marches hosted by tens of thousands, including the Emergency Action for Resignation and the Liberty Unification Party, will take place, causing traffic congestion in various parts of the downtown area."
Pro-impeachment groups such as the Emergency Action for Resignation plan to hold a rally from Dongsipja Intersection to Jaedong Intersection and march along Ujeongguk-ro, Namdaemun-ro, and to the Hanun Intersection. Anti-impeachment groups such as the Liberty Unification Party will hold a rally from Sejong Intersection to Daehanmun.
The police will operate reversible lanes to facilitate smooth vehicle passage during the rallies and marches and will deploy about 240 traffic officers to manage traffic flow.

A police official stated, "Traffic congestion is expected around rally locations such as Sejong-daero, Sajik-ro, and Yulgok-ro in the downtown area," and advised, "Please use public transportation such as the subway whenever possible, and if you must use a vehicle, check traffic information in advance."
