Gyeonggi Province Governor's Commendation Awarded to Jeon Siyun for Volunteering Alone at Jeju Air Accident Memorial Site
In December last year, Gyeonggi Province awarded a commendation from the governor and expressed gratitude to an elementary school student who voluntarily visited the joint memorial altar set up on the first floor of Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do alone to volunteer during the Jeju Air disaster.
On the 19th, Kim Seong-jung, the First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, invited Jeon Si-yoon (12), a student at Pajang Elementary School in Suwon, to present him with the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Commendation and encourage him.
After hearing the news of the Jeju Air disaster, Jeon took a highway bus alone for 4 hours and 30 minutes on January 4th this year and arrived at Muan Airport around noon to comfort the bereaved families. He then volunteered for about 5 hours by picking up trash, creating recycling guidance notices, and posting signs prohibiting photography at the memorial altar before returning home.
