Korea Rotary Awards Scholarships Worth 5.05 Billion Won to Over 2,350 Recipients

View original imageKorea Rotary announced on the 19th at the Korea Press Center that it held the ’2025 Joint Scholarship Award Ceremony’ and delivered a total of 5.05 billion KRW in scholarships to the governors of 19 districts of Rotary International.
The scholarship was delivered to Governor Yang Ji-ae of District 3610 as a representative, and scholarships and certificates were awarded to the students attending as representatives of about 2,350 scholarship recipients. Established in 1973, the Korea Rotary Scholarship and Culture Foundation has provided a total of 147.6 billion KRW in scholarships to about 73,000 university students nationwide based on a fund of 164.1 billion KRW.
Lee Dong-geon, former president of Rotary International, said, "It is very meaningful to be able to convey the spirit of service and sharing of Rotary International to the young talents who have benefited from the scholarship program over the past 50 years," and added, "I hope the Scholarship and Culture Foundation will develop into a foundation that leads more Rotarians to participate in donations."

Shin Hae-jin, chairman of the Scholarship and Culture Foundation, said, "The Scholarship and Culture Foundation has made the scholarship program, which is the core of Korea Rotary’s domestic service, a ‘Future Sustainability Project,’ contributing to the nation’s long-term plans while establishing itself as a proud pride and a shining legacy of Korea Rotary’s future," and added, "In 2025, we will actively respond to external environmental changes, closely cooperate with district and club members, and continue to support the realization of youth dreams without sparing any effort."
