Korean Air Wins Awards in 5 Categories at Global Airline Wine Competition
Won Two Gold Medals and Three Silver Medals
Korean Air's wines provided to business class passengers won awards in five categories at the global airline wine competition.
On the 19th, Korean Air announced that it won awards in five categories, including two gold medals, at the 'Cellars in the Sky Awards 2024.'
In the 'Business Class Red Wine' category, 'Dandelion Vineyards Lionheart Barossa Shiraz 2021' took first place, and in the 'Business Class Sparkling Wine' category, 'Charles Heidsieck Brut Mill?sim? 2013' also won first place, earning gold medals.
In the 'Business Class White Wine' category, 'Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Premier Cru Mont de Milieu 2022' won second place and received a silver medal, while in the 'First Class Dessert Wine' category, 'Ch?teau Guiraud 2002' also placed second and earned a silver medal. Additionally, Korean Air's total score for business class wines ranked second overall, earning a silver medal in the 'Business Class Cellar' category.
A Korean Air representative said, "Our premium class in-flight wines have been globally recognized for their excellence," adding, "In particular, two vegan wines recently added to the list to reflect diverse customer preferences also received awards."
The competition is the world's premier airline wine contest hosted by 'Business Traveler,' a global travel magazine established in London, UK, in 1976. Every October, airlines from various countries submit wines served in first and business classes, which are then judged by a panel of wine experts, with results announced the following February. This year, 32 airlines, including Korean Air, Delta Air Lines, ANA, and Air France, competed.
