View original imageThe United States and Russia have begun serious negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.
According to the Associated Press, on the 18th (local time), ministerial-level talks between the U.S. and Russia will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio is expected to attend on the American side, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend on the Russian side. Ukraine, a key party to the war, has been excluded from participation for the time being.

The two countries are expected to discuss the overall restoration of bilateral relations, including the schedule for a U.S.-Russia summit, as well as negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.
