View original imageOn the 17th, Seosan City in Chungnam announced that it had finalized eight festivals to be held this year, following a Festival Review Committee meeting in the city hall’s main conference room.
Approximately 30 people attended the committee meeting, including Vice Mayor Hong Soongwang, festival review committee members, festival organizing committee chairs, and heads of departments in charge of festivals.
This year’s festivals include the Haemi Cherry Blossom Festival in April, the Ryu Bangtaek Star Festival in May, the Palbongsan Potato Festival and Seosan Six-Clove Garlic Festival in June, the Samgilpo Rockfish Festival in August, the Seosan Haemieupseong Festival in September, the Seosan Fermented Oyster Festival in October, and the Seosan Chrysanthemum Festival in November, totaling eight events.
The attendees deliberated and made decisions regarding support for local festivals and the selection of entrusted organizations and groups, and agreed to work together for the successful operation of festivals in celebration of the “2025-2026 Chungnam Visit Year.”
The city plans to strengthen festival management capabilities by conducting a local festival academy for festival managers and organizing committee members, including benchmarking excellent festivals and providing consulting.
Hong Soongwang, Vice Mayor of Seosan City, said, “In celebration of Chungnam Visit Year, we will spare no administrative support to ensure the successful hosting of Seosan’s festivals,” adding, “We will do our best to prepare a rich variety of experiences, sights, and foods so that festival visitors will want to return to Seosan.”
