Wanju County Recruiting 'Nuisance Wildlife Damage Prevention Team' During Harvest Season

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province is recruiting members for the "2025 Nuisance Wildlife Harvest Season Damage Prevention Team."
According to the county on the 18th, this recruitment aims to prevent crop damage caused by nuisance wildlife such as wild boars and water deer, and to stop the spread of African Swine Fever.
The Harvest Season Damage Prevention Team will select 30 professional hunters based on factors such as the duration of their hunting license and their capture records. These members will capture nuisance wildlife such as wild boars and water deer from April 1 this year to March 31 next year.
Applicants must have had their address registered in the county continuously for at least one year as of the announcement date, and must have either reacquired or held a firearm license and hunting license for more than five years in accordance with relevant laws. They must also have a record of hunting or capturing wild animals within the past five years as of the announcement date. In addition, applicants must not have any delinquent local taxes and must not have been penalized for violating related laws within the past five years.
Applications must be submitted in person at the county office's Resource Circulation Division from the 24th to the 28th.
Han Yoonsu, head of the Resource Circulation Division, said, "We will do our best to prevent crop damage caused by nuisance wildlife and to stop the spread of African Swine Fever through the operation of the Harvest Season Damage Prevention Team," and added, "We hope for the active interest and participation of professional hunters in this project to minimize damage to farms and create a safe agricultural environment."
