Improving the Work Environment Through Voluntary Employee Groups
Five Themes: Foreign Employees, Accessibility, Working Parents, Women's Leadership, and DEI Culture
Samsung Electronics is launching a voluntary group of domestic employees to create an inclusive work environment and accelerate the mutual growth of employees and the company.
According to the Samsung Electronics Newsroom on the 16th, the company held the Employee Resource Groups (ERG) inauguration ceremony for the Device Experience (DX) division employees on the 11th at Digital City in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
ERG is an employee network based on diversity and inclusion. Samsung Electronics has been operating 38 groups with about 6,400 participants since 2014, starting in North America and expanding to Europe, Latin America, and other regions.

View original imageThe domestic ERGs are organized around five themes: foreign employees, accessibility, working parents, women’s leadership, and spreading DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) culture. About 120 employees, including foreigners, people with disabilities, and dual-income parents, along with five advisory executives, are participating to improve the work environment.
At the inauguration ceremony, plans for activities such as internal and external networking, mentoring, awareness improvement education, and DEI campaigns were shared. Overseas ERGs contribute to strengthening business competitiveness through networking events like International Women’s Day and Accessibility Day, as well as talent donation.

Samsung Electronics plans to strengthen an inclusive organizational culture by fostering female and foreign leaders and improving the working environment for people with disabilities. Josh Jung, Vice President and Head of the People Team in the DX division, said, "DEI is essential for a sustainable company," adding, "We will support ERGs to play a pioneering role."
