Acting President Choi Orders Full Mobilization of Equipment and Personnel to Rescue Lives in Jeju Fishing Boat Capsizing
On February 12, Choi Sangmok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, issued an order regarding the capsizing of a fishing vessel off the coast of Seogwipo, Jeju, instructing authorities to "mobilize all available equipment and personnel, including patrol vessels and underwater search and rescue teams, to prioritize saving lives above all else."
Choi also urged, "Please provide active support with all personnel and equipment that can be deployed for maritime rescue operations in Seogwipo City, and cooperate to ensure that on-site rescue activities proceed smoothly."
