City: "We Will Establish an Energy Self-Reliance Foundation and Achieve Carbon Neutrality"
Renewable energy generation facilities such as solar power, solar thermal, and geothermal energy will be installed at 164 locations in the Songsan-myeon area of Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
On the 11th, Hwaseong City held the 'Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project Consortium Agreement Ceremony' at Hwaseong Sports Complex to promote the 2025 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project.

This renewable energy project is the third largest support project in Gyeonggi-do. Accordingly, the consortium plans to install facilities within this year at Hwaseong Songsan Technopark General Industrial Complex and nearby villages, including ▲120 solar power sites (773 kW) ▲32 geothermal sites (560 kW) ▲12 solar thermal sites (206㎡).
Once the installation is completed, it is expected to produce 1,775.238 MWh of electricity annually, which can replace 340.84 toe (tons of oil equivalent) of fossil energy, the city explained.
The project involves a total investment of 2.769 billion KRW, including 1.02 billion KRW in national funds secured through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2025 Renewable Energy Supply Convergence Support Project' public contest last December, 1.195 billion KRW in city funds, and 554 million KRW in private investment.
According to the agreement, each institution will proceed with design services within this month, and from next month, the institutions responsible for each facility will install renewable energy facilities for applying residents and businesses.
