Daejeon Chamber of Commerce, Joint Briefing Session with Research Institutes to Promote Technology Commercialization
The Daejeon Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 11th that it held a "Joint Briefing Session for Regional Excellent Government-Funded Research Institutes for Corporate Growth" at the Chamber of Commerce building, together with the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, and Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology.

View original imageThe briefing session was organized following the consensus reached at the "5th Industry-Academia-Research-Government Practical Council" held at the end of last year, to jointly hold a technology transfer briefing session by government-funded research institutes within the Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone to support the promotion of technology commercialization for regional companies.
At the briefing, Yoonju Lee, CEO of Combiro Co., Ltd., as the first speaker, introduced cases of technology commercialization (both successes and failures) under the theme "The Golden Key to Technology Commercialization," emphasizing that companies should first identify the purpose of technology transfer, such as new product development and performance improvement, production cost reduction, securing patents and intellectual property rights, and strengthening industry-academia-research collaboration R&D capabilities.
She then presented core strategies for technology transfer commercialization, focusing not on technology itself but on solutions needed by the market, linkage with business models, and continuous product and service development and improvement.
Kim Minjung, head of the Industrial Mathematics Innovation Team at the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, highlighted the necessity of collaboration between companies and research institutes by introducing cases of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and data analysis utilization based on mathematical research and development.
Additionally, Kwon Ohseok, head of the Small and Medium Venture Business Support Center at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Kim Jieun, senior researcher at the Performance Diffusion Office of the Korea Institute of Energy Research, and Kim Jaeyoon, head of the Corporate Support Office at the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, explained the technology transfer and professional manpower training support projects and corporate mentoring programs conducted at their respective institutes, proposing continuous technological collaboration between government-funded research institutes and companies.

Meanwhile, following the briefing session, the Daejeon Chamber of Commerce plans to hold the "Essential Knowledge for Companies! Support Project A to Z Briefing Session" on the 11th of next month, with participation from government-funded research institutes and government support agencies, to support technology commercialization for companies in the Daejeon area.
