On the 11th, Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, along with government officials, airport and airline representatives, and about 100 aviation industry workers gathered at Korea Airports Corporation to hold a resolution meeting to strengthen aviation safety. They shared the directions of aviation safety enhancement policies being promoted by the government and various institutions and companies, and adopted a resolution.
The resolution included a commitment to mobilize all human and material resources to transform into safer airlines and airports. It also stated plans to rapidly recruit new specialized personnel such as pilots and maintenance technicians, while ensuring sufficient maintenance time on the ground before flights.
The resolution also covered strengthening training and education to prepare for abnormal situations, and efforts to establish an environment and culture that always chooses the safest methods and does not compromise on safety under any circumstances.

To prevent excessive operations, sufficient maintenance time will be secured before and after flights, and operation schedules and utilization rates for each aircraft will be managed.
Additionally, personnel management for aviation workers will be strengthened, and the safety investment and safety evaluation systems will be revised. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport reported that airlines such as Korean Air, which have completed corporate defect corrections, will be specially managed at the level of supervision applied to airlines in their initial operation phase.
To manage the transportation of hazardous materials with fire risks, the quantity and storage methods of auxiliary batteries brought on board will be widely publicized, and regulations on carrying them into the cabin will be strengthened. If protruding terminals lack caps, measures such as storing them in plastic bags or taping them are necessary. Compliance with each airline’s policies and standards will also be inspected.
