Professor Hyun Woonggeun of Honam University Receives Minister of SMEs and Startups Award for 'AI Robot Technology Innovation'
Honam University announced on the 4th that Professor Hyun Woonggeun from the Department of Robotics and Drone Engineering recently received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Youngju) for his contributions to technological innovation and industrial development.
Professor Hyun has been actively engaged in research in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, registering 30 patents, transferring 20 technologies, and publishing 56 papers both domestically and internationally.
He has shared the results of his years of research in artificial intelligence and robotics with small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them solve difficult problems in advanced intelligent robotics technology and secure technological capabilities for export. His significant contributions to solving technical challenges and developing new technologies for local SMEs have been highly recognized.
Additionally, to address the shortage of highly educated personnel in local industries, he improved employment rates by involving talented students with excellent capabilities in joint industry-academia technology development projects. He also contributed to the technological advancement of local SMEs by developing cutting-edge AI convergence curricula, including artificial intelligence and robotics, to establish new AI technology education.
