At around 8:40 AM on the 1st, a fire broke out at the National Hangeul Museum in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and the fire authorities are currently extinguishing it.
According to Yongsan District Office and the fire authorities, the fire started on the museum's rooftop, producing a large amount of smoke.
The fire authorities stated that they are suppressing the fire and assessing the damage situation.
The Yongsan District Office sent an emergency text message that morning, saying, "At around 8:40 AM today, a fire and a large amount of smoke occurred on the rooftop of the National Hangeul Museum," and requested, "Nearby residents are advised to close their windows and avoid approaching the area."
