More than 40 people, including former Minister Yoo and former Superintendent Cho, were listed as proposers.
They stated, "The Ministry of Education's organizational structure under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration has removed the Democratic Citizenship Education division," and added, "With the revival of neoliberal education policies, private education expenses have increased to unprecedented levels." They also pointed out, "The president's pledges and national tasks are being pursued in a disjointed manner, and the three major education reform projects?Yubotonghap Neulbom School, digital textbooks, and the Glocal 30 policy?are facing the risk of failure due to one-sided policy implementation."
Furthermore, they declared, "We will launch an emergency action in the education sector demanding the immediate resignation of Yoon Seok-yeol and punishment of collaborators in the insurrection, and conduct focused forums to discover agendas for comprehensive education and social reform."
In a separate declaration on the current situation, they said, "Looking back at the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's education policies, there was no philosophy, vision, direction, strategy, or prioritization," and added, "The lawless and arbitrary education policy implementation, initiated by Yoon Seok-yeol's words and blindly followed by his supporters, has destroyed our educational order." They further stated, "Beyond impeaching Yoon Seok-yeol, we also impeach the entire education structure that has driven us into despair."
