He also unleashed harsh criticism regarding disaster situations across the United States, including California, and expressed discomfort about President Joe Biden by saying "an investigation is needed."
California as a 'Great Example'... Criticism of Immigration Policy
On the 22nd (local time), when Fox News anchor Sean Hannity asked if he was considering budget cuts, President Trump replied, "That could be possible." This interview was the first media interview conducted in the presidential office since his inauguration and was held as a one-on-one conversation with Fox News, a leading conservative media outlet in the U.S.
Upon taking office, President Trump declared a national emergency regarding U.S. border security, signed numerous executive orders related to resuming border wall construction and strengthening screening of foreign entrants, and issued an executive order to suspend refugee admissions for six months.
He criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom's immigration policies, calling California a "great example." When asked whether he would meet Governor Newsom during his scheduled visit to Los Angeles (LA) later this week, he drew a line by saying, "I have never even thought about it."
He also criticized Governor Newsom's response to the Los Angeles wildfires. President Trump claimed that fish conservation activities in Northern California depleted water from urban fire hydrants and said, "I think nothing should be given until the water shortage in California is resolved." He also criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), saying, "They have not performed properly in the last four years," and added, "When I was president, it was well managed. We had hurricanes in Florida and tornadoes in Alabama," pointing out their shortcomings.
When asked about claims that TikTok is a "Chinese spy application," President Trump responded, "Is it that important that China is spying on young people?" He continued, "But you can say that about all Chinese products. Most smartphones and computers are made in China," and added, "Why don't you mention that?" Shortly after taking office, President Trump signed an executive order delaying the implementation of the so-called 'TikTok ban law' for 75 days, effectively acting as a savior for TikTok.
Return to the White House: "I Never Doubted"... "Wants Biden Investigated"
Regarding his return to the White House, he said, "I never thought about or doubted that issue," adding, "I am good at finishing things. I had a great election in 2016, and in 2020, I had an even better election." He also claimed, "If I had received 40 to 60 million votes, I would never have run. But I got almost 75 million votes, which is more than any sitting president in history."
President Trump also argued that supporters indicted for the January 6 Capitol riot should be allowed to protest the vote. Regarding the pardon of 1,500 supporters indicted for the January 6 U.S. Capitol riot, he said, "You should be able to protest the vote," and added, "They were treated as the worst criminals in history," claiming, "They were protesting the vote."
He also revealed hostility toward former President Joe Biden. President Trump said he wants an investigation into former President Biden, stating, "It's really hard to say they shouldn't go through that." He particularly pointed out that "we had a hellish four years" during Biden's term. Former President Trump has been tried in four criminal cases, including a hush money scandal related to sexual misconduct.

Before his term ended, President Biden preemptively pardoned anti-Trump figures, including his younger brother and sister-in-law. This was likely because he judged that Trump might seek political retaliation against them after taking office. Regarding this, President Trump pointed out, "It set an amazing precedent."
