Applications accepted until the 21st of next month
Activity support funds provided
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is recruiting participants for the '2025 Low-Carbon Agriculture Program Pilot Project (Crop Farming)' targeting farmers who cultivate rice.
This pilot project provides activity support funds to farms that implement carbon emission reduction activities such as water management in rice paddies, biochar application, and autumn plowing, in order to reduce greenhouse gases generated from agricultural activities.
Eligible applicants are farmers who qualify for the basic direct payment in the application year, and are agricultural corporations or producer groups that manage rice paddies and own or lease farmland of 20 hectares or more.
Choi Jaeyong, Director of the Provincial Agricultural Life and Livestock Industry Bureau, said, "Climate change is a major challenge that greatly affects the agricultural sector," and added, "We hope that rice farmers in the province will actively participate in the low-carbon agriculture program pilot project and join efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions."
