Presenting and Spreading a New Educational Paradigm
Pusan National University (President Choi Jae-won) and Busan National University of Education (President Park Su-ja), jointly promoting the Glocal University project, held the 2024 Glocal Education Specialized Headquarters Performance Sharing Meeting on the 22nd simultaneously at two locations: Pusan National University Busan Campus (Education Specialized Headquarters) and Yangsan Campus (Biomedical Specialized Headquarters) to share achievements and explore future educational strategies.
The 'Specialized Headquarters' is an internal administrative organization established within each university by Pusan National University and Busan National University of Education to efficiently promote the Glocal University project. The Education Specialized Headquarters is installed at both Pusan National University and Busan National University of Education, while the Biomedical Specialized Headquarters is only established at Pusan National University.
At this performance sharing meeting, the two universities presented major achievements made during the Glocal University project implementation by each specialized headquarters in education and biomedical fields and engaged in in-depth discussions.
The Education Specialized Headquarters performance sharing meeting held at the Busan Campus shared various achievements such as the establishment and selection of the EduTech Soft Lab project jointly promoted by Pusan National University and Busan National University of Education, and held a forum on future education with universities, high schools, and the education office.

View original imageThe forum was held under the theme of 'Teacher Training Tailored to Local Educational Sites for Future Education.' Professor Noh Ji-hwa of the Department of Mathematics Education at Pusan National University chaired the session, with participants including Professor Park Sang-wan, Dean of Academic Affairs at Busan National University of Education, Seo Sang-young, a teacher at Geumjeong High School, An Ho-bin, a supervisor from the Digital Future Education Department of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and Lee Jin-gyu, president of the College of Education Student Council at Pusan National University. They discussed various topics such as core competencies of future teachers, teacher training processes, curriculum, and digital education, seeking practical solutions to challenges faced by local educational sites.
At the event, Hwang Sung-wook, head of the Education Specialized Headquarters at Pusan National University, stated, “Pusan National University and Busan National University of Education will widely promote the achievements of the Glocal University project and strive to nurture creative and convergent talents required by future society through continuous cooperation.”
Additionally, Lee Dong-hwan, head of the Education Specialized Headquarters at Busan National University of Education, emphasized, “Based on the various opinions derived from this performance sharing and forum, we will improve the teacher training process and actively respond to changes in the future educational environment.”
At the Yangsan Campus, the Biomedical Specialized Headquarters performance sharing meeting was held under the theme of 'Advanced Biomedical Convergence Education Innovation & Smart City-Integrated Biomedical Industry Leadership,' sharing achievements to date.
Attendees included representatives from Pusan National University and biomedical-related companies, discussing various topics such as convergence projects overcoming biomedical science challenges, life care service development, regional health environment cohort construction, and clinical validation support.
In particular, achievements in establishing an advanced biomedical convergence industry-academic cooperation ecosystem and supporting the growth of network companies through clinical validation-centered full-cycle packaging were shared. The event also provided opportunities to test and promote products obtained through various support programs, fostering continued co-growth with local companies.

Park Su-wan, head of the Biomedical Specialized Headquarters at Pusan National University, expressed expectations, saying, “This performance sharing meeting will be an opportunity to share excellent cases of talent cultivation in the advanced biomedical biofield and biomedical industry cooperation systems, and through benchmarking, to take another leap forward in the qualitative improvement of research outcomes.”
