Naver Webtoon to Adapt 'Stagtown,' Discovered in North America, into a Movie

A North American local webtoon discovered by Naver Webtoon is being adapted into a Hollywood movie. Its parent company, Webtoon Entertainment, announced on the 22nd that the webtoon 'Stagtown,' serialized in North America, will be made into a film.
The production involves Wattpad Webtoon Studio under Webtoon Entertainment and LuckyChap, a Hollywood production company founded by actress Margot Robbie, known for creating 'Barbie' and 'Saltburn.' The screenplay and direction will be handled by Benjamin Brewer, the visual effects lead artist of 'Everything Everywhere All at Once.'
'Stagtown' is a horror webtoon about the protagonist Frankie experiencing supernatural phenomena after returning to his hometown. It was discovered on the North American amateur platform Canvas and has been serialized on Naver Webtoon's English service since 2021. It has accumulated 18 million views.
