Hanam-si Provides Emergency Heating Cost Support of 50,000 Won to Vulnerable Groups During Winter
Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 21st that it will provide emergency heating cost support of 50,000 KRW per household to 5,062 households of basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups within the city to help vulnerable groups stay warm during the winter season.
The support targets are basic livelihood security recipients (living, medical, housing, education) and near-poverty groups residing in Hanam City as of the 3rd of this month.
The budget for this heating cost support is 253.1 million KRW, fully funded by Gyeonggi Province.
The support will be provided by depositing cash directly into individual household accounts. Households already receiving cash welfare benefits will receive the payment automatically into their welfare benefit accounts before the Lunar New Year without a separate application.
For households where account verification is difficult, heating costs will be promptly delivered in February after guidance on payment accounts and completion of application. Account applications can be made by visiting the administrative welfare center in charge of the resident’s address with an ID and a copy of the bankbook or by phone until the 23rd.
