On the 20th (local time), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released additional footage of the interrogation of a North Korean prisoner of war on X (formerly Twitter). The video is 5 minutes and 30 seconds long.
The North Korean soldier lay on a bed and answered questions from a Ukrainian Security Service investigator through a Korean interpreter. The soldier was captured by the Ukrainian military in Kursk, western Russia, and is one of the two North Korean soldiers President Zelensky disclosed on the 12th.
When asked whether he had been trained in the use of Russian weapons and military equipment, the North Korean soldier replied, "They select several people and teach them how to use Russian weapons and equipment," but said he himself had not received such training.
The soldier explained that after arriving in Russia by ship from North Korea, he boarded a train and traveled overland. He added that there were just over 100 North Korean soldiers on the ship, and that the same number boarded the train. Regarding the type of ship, he said it seemed to be a Russian vessel, not a warship but a general cargo ship.
He said, "Even after coming here, I did not know that I was going to Russia, nor that our enemy was the Ukrainian people." When asked if he knew about North Korean troop losses, he replied, "Many of my comrades who came with me were lost, but I do not know the overall number."
When asked if his mother knew about his deployment, he answered, "No." The soldier said he did not know about other countries, and regarding South Korea, he said, "I only know that it has fewer mountains than North Korea."

The Korean post stated, "The captured North Korean soldier and the Ukrainian Security Service investigator continue to communicate," and added, "It has been confirmed through the prisoners’ words that these soldiers are being moved to Russian territory, trained, and that such information is completely cut off. All facts about North Korea’s involvement in this war will be confirmed."
