The Gwangju Seo-gu Council (Chairman Jeon Seung-il) announced on the 20th that it visited the National May 18th Democratic Cemetery to pay respects and conducted environmental cleanup activities around the cemetery area.

After the visit, the Seo-gu Council held environmental cleanup activities around Cemetery Area 1 and Cemetery Area 2 to commemorate the spirit of the democratic martyrs and reflect on their dedication to democracy.
Chairman Jeon Seung-il said, “In May 45 years ago, the democratic martyrs risked their lives to head to the Jeonnam Provincial Government Office to protect democracy. Their noble sacrifice still reminds us of the importance of democracy, so like the democratic martyrs of May, we will take the lead in protecting and advancing democracy and continue our legislative activities.”
