Daejeon City to Provide up to 500,000 KRW in Postnatal Health Care Support for Small Business Owners' Families with Newborns
Daejeon City announced that it will implement the “Postnatal Health Care Support Project for Small Business Owners” to help mothers from local small business and self-employed families recover their health after childbirth, as part of efforts to overcome the low birth rate.
The program is available to small business owner families in which the mother has given birth or is expected to give birth on or after January 1, 2025. Each mother can receive support once, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW. To be eligible, applicants must reside in Daejeon and have operated a business in Daejeon for at least six months.
This project is part of the “Small Business Owner Childbirth and Childcare Support Project,” which is being carried out through an agreement between Daejeon City, KB Financial Group, and the Korea Economic Association.
For more details, refer to the announcement for the “Postnatal Health Care Support Project for Small Business Owners” posted on the business notice/application page of the “Daejeon Biz” website, or contact the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency.
Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs at Daejeon City, said, “We will actively support small business owners and self-employed people in Daejeon who are facing difficult business conditions due to rising raw material and food costs caused by high inflation and high interest rates.”
