Major Art Exhibitions at The Hyundai Seoul, Pangyo, and Other Key Stores This Year
Hyundai Department Store announced on the 20th that it will strengthen its art marketing efforts. While introducing works by world-renowned artists that have never been shown in Korea before, it plans to accelerate the enhancement of 'Art+Entertainment' content by holding museum-level exhibitions.

View original imageAs part of this initiative, Hyundai Department Store is exhibiting the representative work "Clouds Meteoros II" by the world-famous artist duo 'Lucy + Jorge Orta' on the first floor of The Square at The Hyundai Daegu until May 31. This is the first time "Clouds Meteoros II" is being exhibited in Korea.
Lucy + Jorge Orta are a married artist couple renowned worldwide for artistically conveying messages about nature. Their works have been exhibited at world-class museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in the UK and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, USA. "Clouds Meteoros II," exhibited at The Hyundai Daegu, is a work introduced in 2014 that symbolizes clouds to remind viewers of the beauty and importance of nature.
World-class artworks will also be exhibited at The Hyundai Seoul. In February, Eddie Kang and Maum Studio will collaborate to create a large-scale sculpture of the 'Imaginary Guardian Angel Yeti' that appears in Eddie Kang's paintings. This is the first time this work will be introduced in Korea at The Hyundai Seoul. Eddie Kang is a versatile artist who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and works across painting, sculpture, and media art.
Hyundai Department Store will also hold museum-level exhibitions. Until January 31, the "Here I am, To Myself Living in the Present" exhibition will be held at the 10th-floor Culture Hall of the Trade Center branch. This exhibition is filled with works directly commissioned by Hyundai Department Store from over 40 domestic and international artists, including Kang Jun-young, Lee Tae-soo, and Cho Kwang-hoon.
At the 'Hyundai Children's Book Museum MOKA' located on the 5th floor of the Hyundai Pangyo branch, an exhibition titled "Fabian Negrin: Adventure Beyond Childhood" by Italian illustrator and picture book author Fabian Negrin will be held until March 23, showcasing over 80 pieces ranging from his early works to unreleased new works.
Additionally, Hyundai Department Store is planning the 'Art To Go' exhibition in April to popularize art, allowing customers to take home works by domestic and international artists immediately.
