The inspections will be carried out through both independent and joint on-site checks by Jeollanam-do, city and county governments, the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, and the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency.
The plan is to check the traceability management, grading, and country of origin labeling of livestock products distributed in the market to enhance consumer trust.
For more efficient inspections, DNA identity tests will be conducted for businesses with a high likelihood of violations, such as those suspected of fraudulent sales.
Additionally, authorities will check compliance with requirements such as displaying traceability numbers at retail stores, issuing transaction statements with traceability numbers, and recording and managing information in the traceability management system. Administrative actions, including fines, will be imposed if violations are found.
Kim Sungjin, Director of Livestock Policy at Jeollanam-do, said, "We will do our utmost to ensure the supply of safe livestock products to consumers during Seol."
