Customized Education by Stage: Prenatal Education, Breastfeeding, Baby Food Theory, Diet, and More
Guro-gu announced that it will operate customized programs needed for each stage such as pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and infant and toddler childcare at the Guro Moja Health Center.
The Guro Moja Health Center is an integrated health management space that supports all areas from pregnancy preparation to childbirth. It began pilot operation earlier this year and aims to officially open in April.
Anyone can participate, including couples preparing for pregnancy, pregnant women and their husbands, prospective couples, and mothers and babies. The center offers high-quality programs conducted by professional instructors from Monday to Friday, and on the second and fourth Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A total of 102 programs will be operated throughout February. For pregnant women, programs such as “Prenatal Education Class,” “Mat Stretching and Circulation Exercise,” “Proper Prenatal Diet Class,” “Prenatal Cooking Class,” and “Prenatal Depression Prevention Group Counseling” will be held. Participants can engage in a variety of programs ranging from expert knowledge on effective prenatal education methods and nutrition management during pregnancy to health programs that aid prenatal care.
There are also abundant programs for postpartum mothers. These include “Breastfeeding Clinic,” “Mom’s Gathering,” “Mat Stretching and Circulation Exercise,” “Kangaroo Line Dance,” “Friday Dance Class,” “Diet Class,” “Healthy Mom, Strong Baby,” “Baby Food Cooking Class,” “Toddler Food Cooking Class,” “Proper Postpartum Diet Class,” and “Postpartum Depression Prevention Group Counseling.”
Additionally, programs for infants and toddlers such as “Five Senses Play,” “Emergency First Aid Education for Infants and Toddlers,” “Parent Education,” “Baby Food Theory Class,” and “Toddler Food Theory Class” will be offered, open to everyone from prospective parents to grandparents raising children.
Programs that fathers can participate in are held on weekends. On February 8th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a “Prospective Parents Class” for couples preparing for pregnancy will be conducted. On the same day, at 10:10 a.m. and 11:10 a.m., “Saturday Dad and Baby Music Play (Eurhythmics)” will be held in two sessions.
On February 22nd at 10 a.m., the “Saturday Couple Prenatal Education Class” will cover the developmental process from fetus to 0 years old, and teach prenatal education and play methods that allow mother, father, and fetus to bond together.
In addition, Guro-gu is preparing to collaborate with Yuhan University located within the district to develop healthy food and utilize community resources through talent donation.
All programs are free and operate on a first-come, first-served basis by program. Those wishing to enroll can apply from the 16th of each month on the Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center website.
