'Attending Trump's Inauguration' Na Kyung-won: "I Will Actively Reveal the Reality of South Korean Politics"
"We Must Alleviate Concerns About Korea and Strengthen Trust"
Na Kyung-won, a member of the People Power Party, attended the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President Donald Trump and stated to American officials, "I will actively inform them about the political realities of the Republic of Korea, including the impeachment motion against the president due to the opposition party's incitement of rebellion."
Na's office announced on the 17th through a press release that she will attend President Trump's inauguration ceremony on the 20th as the head of the People Power Party's delegation to the U.S. During her visit, Na's office stated, "She will attend the inauguration ceremony and the ball, and hold meetings with close aides of President Trump, key members of the U.S. Congress, and prominent Republican figures."
Na emphasized, "Conveying and persuading our position regarding the security, economic, and trade policy directions related to Korea in the second Trump administration is a very important diplomatic task for national interests."
Focusing on President Yoon's impeachment following the December 3 rebellion incident, Na defined the impeachment motion passed by the Democratic Party of Korea and the People Power Party as incitement of rebellion by the opposition party. She added, "Conveying the ruling party's efforts for political stability to the Trump side to alleviate concerns about Korea and strengthen trust is an important task of this U.S. visit."
Na also stated that she will actively inform the U.S. side about the political situation in the Republic of Korea. She plans to explain how the opposition party disparaged proactive diplomacy centered on the free world and revealed a pro-totalitarian, anti-liberal worldview in the impeachment motion.
President Yoon, in his response to the impeachment trial submitted to the Constitutional Court, repeated the far-right YouTuber's claim that "China is behind the rigged election," which has drawn criticism even from conservative media for "not escaping from severe delusions."

During her visit to the U.S., Na said she will also conduct in-depth discussions on measures to respond to escalating security threats such as North Korea's nuclear advancement and the close military ties between North Korea and Russia, as well as South Korea's own nuclear armament options. She emphasized, "I will persuade that South Korea's own nuclear armament is a win-win for the security strategies of both countries."
