Training Group Participates in ISPO Beijing Exhibition
Promoting Research on Healthcare Fashion Trends
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) recently announced that a training group consisting of Professor Lee Sun-hee from the Department of Fashion Design and 10 undergraduate students visited Beijing, China as part of the ‘Global Talent Development Program for the Department of Fashion Design,’ which was promoted as a project to revitalize regional universities.
This program was themed ‘Participation in ISPO Beijing Exhibition and Investigation of Healthcare Fashion Trends’ and was designed to include visits to overseas companies, exhibitions, and schools necessary for nurturing global fashion talents. To this end, 10 trainees were selected through a project proposing and evaluating fashion product ideas in the healthcare field needed for the sportswear and footwear industries based in the Busan area.
The training group attended the ‘ISPO Beijing’ exhibition held at CNCC (China National Convention Center) in Beijing, China from the 10th to the 12th, aiming to strengthen global employment and entrepreneurship capabilities in the fashion industry by analyzing healthcare sports product companies and trends.
‘ISPO Beijing’ is Asia’s top-level segment sports exhibition. It featured about 1,000 booths focused on skiing, outdoor sports, team sports, sports events, fitness, biking, water sports, and trekking, including textile and service sectors, attracting over 12,000 visitors and serving as a business platform.

Student Son Byung-gyu, who participated in this program, said, “Participating in the ‘ISPO Beijing’ exhibition was an opportunity to confirm the technological capabilities and trends of the Chinese market, and I felt the language barrier on site, which motivated me to study English and Chinese harder. It was a valuable time to realize a concrete direction when preparing for employment in the fashion field.”
