[Photo] ‘Symbol of Wealth’ Red-crowned Cranes... Visiting Uiryeong ‘Rich Village’ for the 3rd Year
A flock of Hooded Cranes has arrived at Buja Village in Jeonggok-myeon, Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, creating a spectacular sight. This marks the third consecutive year since 2023 that they have appeared.
According to Uiryeong-gun on the 17th, cranes, regarded as auspicious birds that bring longevity and good fortune, are called Hak, Danjeonghak, or Seonhak. Among them, a flock of Hooded Cranes, of which about 10,000 remain worldwide, has recently been spotted in the Uiryeong area.
The Hooded Crane, a winter migratory bird and Natural Monument No. 203, is designated as a second-class endangered wild animal. It is recognized as a sacred creature that prays for health and longevity and is considered a bird that foretells blessings and good events for people.
