Gyeonggi Province announced on the 17th that it will recruit 109 personnel to serve as ‘Gyeonggi Province River and Valley Guardians’ this year to monitor illegal activities and prevent their recurrence in rivers and valleys.
Since 2020, the River and Valley Guardians have patrolled local rivers, assisting river managers by monitoring and eradicating illegal activities within river zones. This year, their roles will include river monitoring and patrolling, managing disaster risk factors and illegal issues, and maintaining the river environment. Additionally, they will help visitors access and enjoy the rivers and valleys more easily and install promotional materials to prevent illegal activities.
This year, 108 personnel will be hired across 22 cities and counties, including Anyang City, which is hiring River and Valley Guardians for the first time, and Gyeonggi Province will hire one person to oversee them all.
Any resident of the relevant area aged between 20 and under 65, who is physically healthy and capable of outdoor activities, can apply. Women with career interruptions, youth unemployed, and low-income groups registered at the Gyeonggi Employment Center will receive additional points during the interview process. The employment type is fixed-term contract, with the activity period from March to October this year. Compensation will be based on the 2025 Gyeonggi Province living wage (hourly wage of 12,152 KRW).
The application period for Gyeonggi Province recruitment is until the 24th, and city and county recruitments are planned to be completed by February.
