Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station Inspects Six New Construction Sites Ahead of Lunar New Year
Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station announced on the 16th that it had conducted on-site inspections and guidance at six major construction sites in the region, including the new construction site of Donggwangju Saemaeul Geumgo, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This inspection and guidance was carried out as part of winter fire safety measures to prevent the possibility of disasters such as fires and to eliminate potential risk factors.
The main points of inspection included: ▲ checking and guiding the installation of temporary fire safety facilities ▲ providing safety and fire prevention education for foreign workers ▲ ensuring fire extinguishers and fire watchers are stationed during hot work such as welding and cutting ▲ and urging compliance with standards for the storage and handling of hazardous materials.
Song Ilsu, head of the Fire Prevention and Safety Department, stated, "At large construction sites, even a small spark can cause a major fire and lead to extensive damage, so it is essential to strictly adhere to safety rules and thoroughly maintain temporary fire safety facilities." He added, "We hope that the inspections and guidance at major construction sites before the Lunar New Year will provide practical help in preventing safety accidents and fires during the holiday period."
