Gwangju Office of Education Expands 'Customized Career Education' to Elementary Students
Distribution of Guidance Materials for Middle School Adaptation
Advance Experience of Changing Subjects Also Provided
Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will expand career education, which has traditionally focused on middle and high schools, to include elementary schools. On the 16th, the Office of Education announced that it will implement a tailored career education program for elementary students.
To help elementary students who are about to advance to higher schools or those in the early stages of enrollment quickly adapt to school life, career-linked education will be incorporated into the revised curriculum. Students will be able to experience not only current subjects but also new subjects through creative experiential activities in advance.
In addition, to support sixth-grade elementary students during the transition to middle school, the Office will distribute the "Preparing for Middle School Life Together with Me" materials to schools and offer special lectures that provide guidance on middle school life for sixth graders.
Furthermore, in line with the era of artificial intelligence (AI), the Office will emphasize improving awareness of elementary career education and provide entrepreneurship experience programs.
Superintendent Lee Jungseon said, "We will actively work to strengthen teachers' career guidance capabilities to realize customized career education that considers the diversity of each student."
