Olymplanet Appoints Kwon Youngseol as President of Media Division
Launch of a Specialized Metaverse and AI Media Outlet in March
Extended Reality (XR) tech company Olymp Planet announced on the 15th that it has recruited Kwon Young-seol, former editorial writer of Korea Economic Daily, as president of its media division.
President Kwon graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in philosophy and earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He started his career as a reporter at Korea Economic Daily in 1991, served as an editorial writer and head of the planning and coordination office, and held positions such as CEO of Hyungji Elite, editor-in-chief of Economic Daily, and CEO of MediaPen.

Olymp Planet plans to launch a specialized media outlet for the metaverse and generative artificial intelligence (AI) in March. President Kwon stated, “With the advancement of XR and generative AI technologies, the metaverse industry is creating tangible value and driving digital innovation,” adding, “We will promote the growth of the domestic XR industry, contribute to job creation, and carry out various public interest campaigns, showcasing ‘Metanomics’ that integrates immersive technology and economic models.”
