CJ Logistics has agreed to collaborate stably with the Agency Union and the Courier Labor Union to establish a 7-day-a-week parcel delivery service. To guarantee courier rest rights, they plan to expand the 5-day workweek system and extend various leave policies such as family events and maternity leave.
On the 15th, CJ Logistics signed a "Basic Agreement for the Implementation of the Daily One Service" with the Agency Union and the Courier Labor Union at the Agency Union office in Jung-gu, Seoul, the previous day. They agreed to work together to stabilize the service and improve the working environment for couriers. "Daily One" is CJ Logistics' 7-day delivery service.
This basic agreement includes a fundamental framework for expanding courier rest rights and welfare systems, as well as joint labor-management efforts to strengthen service competitiveness.
Through this, the Agency Union committed to working on expanding courier rest rights and improving working conditions. First, the leave system was significantly expanded for all individual business owner couriers. Maternity leave was newly established, granting 3 days for spouses and up to 60 days for the individual, along with up to 5 days of family event leave and 3 days of special leave.
Regarding work patterns, they will adhere to the principle of working within 60 hours per week as per social consensus, implement a rotating work system adjusting days off, and continuously strive to expand the 5-day workweek system step by step. To this end, the courier work application (app) will also limit late-night deliveries and excessive consecutive work. Additionally, delivery fee surcharges will be paid for holiday work.
Along with this, when delivering in another courier’s territory due to scheduled work, additional fees will be temporarily paid. They plan to develop a routing system in the future to reduce the workload of couriers.
