Schools emphasized the importance of character education by operating programs such as △ jointly deciding on a character brand △ practicing it in daily life △ and family-linked character education programs.
A middle school in the province focused on realizing traditional character values of respect and filial piety through the ‘Gong-Bae-Su (Respect, Consideration, Rule Compliance) Project.’
Another elementary school practiced ‘Character Education Suitable for the Digital Age to Foster Proper Citizenship,’ selecting character values that reflect the school's uniqueness, such as enhancing digital citizenship, and making efforts to internalize character values necessary for future society.
The Office of Education plans to discover and share promotional materials and good cases of character education related to the ‘One School, One Character Brand’ initiative on-site and expand the creation of character brands by grade, class, and individual.
The ‘One Class, One Character Brand’ is linked to the curriculum at each growth stage and operates △ (elementary school) character brands through play △ (middle school) character brands through physical activities △ (high school) character brands centered on debates, allowing students to internalize character values through practice and experience.
Through this, the plan is to activate practice-centered character education with distinctive character brands for each class and promote the normalization of character education in daily life.
