"Air Conditioner Conversing with AI"... LG Electronics Launches New 'Whisen' Model
LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it will launch the 2025 models of the 'LG Whisen Objet Collection Tower I' and 'LG Whisen Objet Collection View I Pro' air conditioners.
The new products feature ▲AI voice recognition ▲AI airflow ▲AI home monitoring ▲AI heat exchanger cleaning functions.
Equipped with the AI agent 'LG PuriOn,' the new products' 'AI voice recognition' goes beyond simple voice commands to understand the customer's intent and control the product accordingly. For example, if a customer says "It's too cold," the AI responds with "Shall I raise the desired temperature?" and if the customer says "Stop the wind," it changes the direction of the airflow. The air conditioner operates through everyday conversations and interactions between the customer and the AI.

View original imageThrough radar sensors, the AI detects the customer's location in real time and learns the preferred temperature to provide optimal cooling with the 'AI airflow' function. It also emits quiet and gentle airflow below 22dB (at wind level 1, set temperature 24°C), which is quieter than indoor library noise, through two left and right outlets, controlling the airflow in the space to maintain comfort.
'AI home monitoring' is a function where the AI detects movement and sends notifications via the LG ThinQ app, allowing easy monitoring of home safety. It is useful for parents with young children to check if their child has returned home when they are out. Notifications are provided even when the product is turned off.
The air conditioner's cleaning and maintenance performance using AI has also been upgraded. 'AI heat exchanger cleaning' analyzes data measured by humidity and temperature sensors to assess the contamination level of the heat exchanger and automatically cleans it. Without disassembling the product, it automatically cleans even invisible parts, making hygiene management much more convenient.
Additionally, the product offers a function that notifies customers of birthdays or wedding anniversaries. By setting images such as hearts or fireworks or entering text in the 'Smart Schedule' feature of the LG ThinQ app, the air conditioner display can show them on the designated dates.
