Gwangju Customs Implements Special Measures for Import and Export Clearance During Lunar New Year Holiday
Special Customs Clearance Support Team to Operate 24 Hours from the 13th to the 30th
Gwangju Customs announced on the 11th that it will implement special support measures ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Special Customs Clearance Support Team will operate from the 13th to the 30th, running a 24-hour import and export clearance system, including holidays and nighttime hours.
To prevent cases where fines are imposed for violating the mandatory export cargo shipment period (one month), the team plans to provide maximum support to export companies by processing shipment period extension applications even during the holiday period.
To help small and medium-sized exporting companies manage their funds, a special customs duty refund support period will also be operated from the 14th to the 24th.
During this period, the principle is to pay refunds on the same day as the export company's application, and for applications received after bank closing hours, the payment will be made by the following morning.
Jung Jin-ho, head of the Customs Clearance Support Division, said, "We will spare no effort in supporting the swift clearance of Lunar New Year seasonal products such as agricultural, marine, and livestock products, as well as urgent raw materials and components, and ensuring that export cargo is shipped on time by operating a special support team."
