Starting with the comprehensive briefing session, each regional SME office plans to expand the number of targeted on-site briefing sessions segmented by policy targets to more than 200 sessions by next month.

The goal of this briefing session is to support small business owners and self-employed individuals in overcoming crises and stabilizing management, and to increase participation rates of SMEs, ventures, and startups to support global leaps and innovative growth.

At the comprehensive briefing session, detailed explanations of support projects in key areas such as finance (loans and guarantees), technology development, startups, and exports will be provided, along with distribution of the SME and venture business support project guidebook to attendees. On-site consultations with project managers from executing agencies such as the Small and Medium Business Corporation, Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs, Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will also be available for detailed support projects.

At the Seoul and Gyeonggi SME offices, where export SMEs are concentrated, support project guidance will be provided to SMEs struggling due to the high exchange rate, along with explanations on SME response measures following the inauguration of the new U.S. administration.

For SMEs and small business owners who find it difficult to attend the comprehensive briefing session, on-site briefing sessions will also be held by each regional office. Inquiries can be made by phone to the respective regional SME office or schedules can be checked on each regional office’s website.

After the briefing sessions, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to provide real-time announcements of project notices via email and KakaoTalk channels to help local companies participate in support projects.

Minister Oh Young-joo of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said, “We will play a strong supporting role to help SMEs overcome difficult times caused by sluggish domestic demand and high exchange rates and to grow. As this briefing session is the first integrated introduction to the Ministry’s 2025 support projects, we will actively ensure timely provision of information on support policies and practical assistance to participating companies.”
