Gimcheon-si Opens Applications for 2025 Wildlife Damage Prevention Facility Support
Reception at Eup, Myeon, Dong Administrative Welfare Centers in Farmland Locations from the 13th to the 6th of Next Month
Gimcheon City in Gyeongbuk Province is implementing special measures to protect citizens' safety and property from harmful wildlife whose population has recently surged.
On the 8th, Gimcheon City announced that it will accept applications for the installation support of wildlife damage prevention facilities in 2025.
Applications will be accepted from the 13th of this month until the 6th of next month at the resident centers of the towns, townships, and neighborhoods where the farmland is located. Detailed information can be found in the notices and announcements section on the Gimcheon City website.
The supported installation facilities include wire mesh fences and wooden fences (electric and solar-powered). Eligibility requires a planned installation area of at least 1,000㎡ and ownership allowing continuous cultivation for over five years. Any local farmer or forester who has not previously received support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries FTA fund or other damage prevention facility support can apply. This project supports 60% of the installation costs, with a maximum support amount of 4 million KRW per farm.
Last year, Gimcheon City supported damage prevention facilities at 129 farms, helping to alleviate the difficulties faced by citizens suffering from damage caused by harmful wildlife.
