Online Marketing Setup and Parcel Delivery Agency Business, etc.
Gwangju Nam-gu (District Mayor Kim Byungnae) is launching various support projects for Baegun Square Alley-type Shopping District and Mudeung Market to revitalize alleyway economies and traditional markets.
According to Nam-gu on the 8th, Baegun Square Alley-type Shopping District and two locations in Mudeung Market have been selected as target areas for the 2025 Traditional Market and Shopping District Revitalization Support Project conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Accordingly, the district will invest 90 million KRW to actively implement the Market Management Package Support Project.
The Market Management Package Project is part of the Traditional Market and Shopping District Revitalization Support Project. Merchant associations will reflect the unique characteristics of each region and commercial area to carry out joint marketing, hire managers, and provide merchant training within the budget supported by national and local governments, aiming to innovate market management.
Nam-gu plans to invest 45 million KRW each in Baegun Square Alley-type Shopping District and Mudeung Market to provide full support to the merchant associations.
First, in the Baegun Square Alley-type Shopping District, a marketing system will be established for 10 stores to create an online shopping environment, including detailed Naver Place pages and blog review upload features, and promotional shorts videos will also be produced.
Additionally, a market manager project will be introduced to support administrative tasks and marketing for the alley-type shopping district. One full-time staff member will be hired to promote and support the Saturday Night Market, which will open in March, for the mutual development of the Baegun Square Street Food Zone and stores around Baegyang-ro.
Meanwhile, in Mudeung Market, a parcel reception agency service will be operated so that merchants, consumers, and residents near the traditional market can freely send goods traded through the market anywhere nationwide.
The merchant association here will sign a direct contract with a courier company and set up a parcel reception corner and assign a delivery manager at a designated location within the traditional market.
In addition, to promote the traditional market, 50 to 100 students from elementary schools around Mudeung Market will be given coupons to support shopping experience activities, and a spinning wheel event will be held to give gifts to consumers who make purchases above a certain amount at Mudeung Market as a token of appreciation.
A Nam-gu official stated, "This project will not only revitalize Baegun Square Alley-type Shopping District and Mudeung Market but also greatly contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of local businesses by establishing online shopping and delivery environments."
